Built on the vestiges of a pre-Hispanic site, visitors to the Itzincab de Cámara Hacienda can hear the song of birds inhabiting the jungle and look at the landscape from the top of its pyramid. The Hacienda lies, beyond the passing of time, among mystical elements that envelop their gardens, ruins and corridors. Itzincab’s ancestral gastronomy comes from the sacred cornfield.
Itzincab makes part of an endeavor to restore a system to take care for different species in this region. Furthermore, when we ‘live this hacienda’, we can observe its eclectic architecture. After comprehensive historical research studies, the hacienda was restored by Salvador Reyes Rios from 1996 to 2000. He assessed the historical and patrimonial value of the property, taking into account both formal concerns and composite and typological elements.
